In 2021 -2022, I worked at the secretariat of the international centre of Politics for Unity Movement (Mppu).
An international network of politicians, ordinary citizens, diplomats and officials involved at various levels, administrators, academics, researchers, young people interested in political issues, of different inspiration and parties, who wish to respond, on a personal and collective level, to the great questions that humanity faces today, recognizing in universal fraternity the content and the specific method of their political commitment."
And a little about George:
"George White is a transgender man and a Catholic teacher of Religious Education at St. Paul’s Catholic school in Leicester which is the school he attended as a child. In 2009, he was baptised in the school chapel at the age of 16. He holds a BA in Philosophy and Theology from Heythrop College, University of London and an MA in Global Ethics and Human Values from King’s College London. Prior to beginning his teacher training, he spent a year living with two religious order communities in Macclesfield and London assisting with the running of retreats. He also holds a Secondary PGCE in Religious Studies from the University of Cambridge.
He is also a trustee of two inclusive Catholic organisations; Quest where he leads on education and a trustee at Million Minutes where he leads on safeguarding. He has delivered conferences on LGBT+ Inclusion in Catholic Schools to the NEU, Schools Inclusion Alliance, ASCL and more. George has appeared on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio Leicester and GB News to discuss the importance of making Catholic schools more inclusive for the LGBT+ community. In addition, he is a published author having contributed to Diverse Educators: The Manifesto with a piece which focuses on the protected characteristics of religion and belief, sexual orientation and gender reassignment.
George now teaches part time and is offering CPD for educators, schools and teacher training colleges who want to explore the ways in which they make Catholic spaces more inclusive of the LGBT+ community."
We're delighted to welcome both to our taltented and dedicated trustee team!
