Discerning During Lent
As we approach Lent we do so mindful of the losses and the separation that we have felt during the last year. For LGBT+ Christians those feelings might be the same as we feel in our local churches or contexts, separated or isolated from other LGBT+ Christians who we can learn and pray with, be challenged and supported by, serve and be served by.
Our hope and prayer is that Rhythm will be a community of and for LGBT+ Christians offering a space to authentically commune with God, ourselves and each other; a space that provides opportunity for corporate prayer even in our physical separateness; for retreat and replenishment; for exploring and deepening our faith; for being equipped to offer the inclusive welcome of God’s love; and for being energised to stand against injustice in the Church and the world.
Lent is a good season to spend some time thinking about what can help us grow as followers of Christ and so during this Lent you are invited to consider whether this a community that would benefit you in living out your Christian faith.
You can contact us to chat through ideas or questions during that time, and if this is something that you feel might be right for you then let us know by 10th April. We will be holding an initial gathering of interested people on Saturday 24th April, with further details to follow once we know what lockdown restrictions might look like then. In the meantime, you can read more about what Rhythm is evolving to be by reading the Rule of Life.
