John and Nick's film appeal

We’ve just heard that our friends John Bell of the Iona Community and Nick Bundock of St James and Emmanuel Didsbury, are making a really exciting and important film together, and we thought our members would want to get involved.  You'll recall that Nick is the vicar at the church attended by the family of Lizzie Lowe, who ended her life in 2014, in part because she could not imagine being able to reconcile her faith and sexuality.  Nick’s story has really moved us – and it moved John Bell too.  So much that he spoke powerfully at Greenbelt about the need for visibility and courage by all those of us who are passionate about being part of a church where people like Lizzie don’t have to live in fear, or hide who they really are.

John and Nick’s short film will share some of their respective stories, and we know it will be both a challenge and an inspiration.  We want to see it reach a wide audience, because we believe it will make real change.

The film will cost around £700 to make;  would you contribute towards those costs?  You can make a secure, online, gift-aided donation here, and we’ll keep you updated on progress.
