Greenbelt 2018: Acts of the Imagination
Greenbelt is always a highlight of our year; for as long as we've been around, this annual gathering of people of faith commited to the arts and social justice has been a place of welcome, acceptance and celebration for us LGBTQ+ folks. This year is no exception.
The festival takes place from Friday 24 - Monday 27 August at the Boughton estate, near Kettering in Northamptonshire. The programme line-up is exceptional - from Carol Ann Duffy and Vicky Beeching, to Pussy Riot and Peterson Toscano, via John Bell and Jack Monroe. Add to that a drag king production of Joan of Arc and Drag Queen Story time - it should be a wondeful weekend. Outerspace, who have worked with Greenbelt on LGBT content for 12 years now, will be holding their inlcusive eucharist, and there's a Sunday afternoon social - and cheeky quiz! - in the Jesus Arms, with an opportunity to make new freinds and catch up with old ones. What's not to like?
For the first time, we're planning a OneBodyOneFaith stall in the Takeaway area, where you can meet our trustees, staff, members and volunteers, and get involved with sharing your views for an exciting social media campaign we're planning to launch this autumn. You can book a place at our conference at a special discounted rate, find out more about our work and sign up as a member if you haven't already. And you can pick up a copy of our 'Top Queer Festival Highlights' - our handy guide to this year's must-sees, to make sure you get to the right venue, at the right time, and don't miss a thing!
We've launched a flash funding appeal to cover the costs of our presence at the festival - will you help by making a secure, gift-aided donation?
It promises to be another great Greenbelt - look forward to seeing you there. Bring sunscreen, and an open mind!
