Making the difference: from supporters to activists
When: Saturday, 04 Mar 2017 9:30AM | Where: Central Hall, Coventry
Following the remarkable events in London last week - the launch of OneBodyOneFaith and the refusal of General Synod, the following day, to take note of the Bishops' report on sexuality - this is a day for OneBody's members and supporters to come together, reflect and organise for the work ahead.
We have learned so much about the impact of working at a grassroots level to influence and engage, and now we need to build on the huge groundswell of support for change in all our churches. During our time together you can learn more about the principles and strategy underlying the campaign, and about how you can become involved yourself - and encourage others to do so.
Dr Keith Hebden of the Urban Theology Union will introduce to some principles of community organising, applied to our own context, and we're also hoping there will be an opportunity to explore prayer and craft as part of our approach.
The event is free to attend if you're a member of LGCM, or a financial supporter of Changing Attitude. If you're not yet a member and can subscribe to our Convictions, you can join here.
We are keen to encourage people who have not previously been involved with our work, and young people, to attend. If you need support with travel costs, please contact us, because there is some help available. Please also let us know if you have any access needs.
We're using Eventbrite to invite people to the day - you can access the information you need here, and you can also share the link with others you think might be interested in joining us.
